Eurostars and Eurocities: Free Movement and Mobility in an Integrating Europe - Adrian Favell. Kind of a breathless paean to free movement within the EU. This book looks at the privileged upwardly mobile -- it's based on 60-odd interviews with such -- & gushes about how cosmpolitan they are & what this means for European identity. He does acknowledge that these are just a small slice of the EU population & EU migrants in general. As a look at this v. specific demographic, it's an interesting one, although I'd still like to read something that talked about people less privileged. I also snorted at how dated the book seems -- despite only coming out in 2008 -- when someone refers to the neighborhood in London where I live as having no foreigners (it actually gets reviled by the far right nowadays for having "too many").
Forty Days of Yoga: Breaking Down the Barriers to a Home Yoga Practice - Kara-Leah Grant I liked how this book focuses on specific excuses people use when they want to do more yoga at home & somehow never do, & then offers suggestions for how to work through these obstacles anyway. As usual, I probably would've gotten more out of this had I actually written out & done the exercises in the book -- maybe someday... ! Still, I can imagine that I might actually go back & either flip through this book for a bit of inspiration or actually go through & reread it properly.
Harry Potter et la Chambre des Secrets - J. K. Rowling. Rereading this for French practice. Not much to say about it otherwise right now!
