That story about the woman surrendering her dog over $20 is just... argh. I wish there was some way to keep people from getting pets if they're not seriously committed to that animals health, well-being, and happiness for the life of the animal -- which can, in some cases, be more than two decades. WTF.

I'm not surprised to hear that about the AKC & puppy mill dogs... my parents' dog is almost certainly a puppy-mill dog, and he's got papers. So far as I know, they weren't even "limited" papers, which is what our breeder has offered us upon proving that Ein has been neutered. Ugh.
