Food is definitely something I'm willing to spend money on... yeah, I get pretty horrified @ some prices sometimes, too, but like you said, so much better than most of the other stuff one could blow money on!

Sharyn November edited The Green Glass Sea, iirc, & @ last year's WisCon (http://www.wiscon.info) she auctioned off the galleys for it (it's not sf/f, but Ellen Klages is a WisCon regular & always MCs the fundraising auction there) & talked it up a lot. She was right. :)
